Born and raised in Lake Orion, Michigan, Emily spent most of her late teens and twenties in NYC exploring many different forms of performing through acting, movement, directing, and music. Currently based in southeast Michigan, Emily focuses on making music and putting on a great stage performance her passion. Her choice instruments are her vocal chords, acoustic guitar, and ukulele but she also plays the flute, piccolo, and a little harmonica.
Her power vocals have been compared to the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Adele and her quirky heartfelt lyrics bring a fun stage presence with big meaning. Emily’s music is written for empowering, for raising awareness, and for inspiring. She writes because she needs to and she strives to write from an honest place of growth with songs from her playful, hopeful pre-teen years, heartbreaking teens, and her journeys of finding herself as she is right now; creating an extremely personal and relatable experience for listeners.
She’s performed around the US, in Toronto, and even at the White House in Washington, D.C. In 2011 she won Recording Artists Development’s singer/songwriter contest and was able to record her first single, “Home Is Where The Heart Is“. Gaining exposure through the airwaves of radio, she went on to do interviews on 93.5 WVIP in metro New York, online radio show Legends Radio, and Toronto’s indie station, Radio Nation. Emily was named American Artist of the Year from Radio Nation in 2012 and then traveled to Toronto in 2013 to perform at the IndieWeek Music Festival which got her a feature in INtune magazine.
